Michelle was introduced to dancing by her mother at the age of 3 in a community dance program. She moved into competitive dance at the age of 8, participating in tap, jazz, ballet and musical theatre. In her teens she was introduced to modern dance at the Alberta Ballet School and participated with Orchesis during her university days as a dancer, seamstress and assistant stage manager. For several seasons she was choreographer for the Alberta Lyric Theatre and their annual production at the Jubilee Auditorium .

Dance and movement have always been an important part of Michelle’s life. She participates in yoga and other dance classes in Edmonton, enjoying the spontaneity of contact improv, the dynamics of tap, and the grace and strength of contemporary ballet. Her goal is to do purposeful work which encourages people to keep trying and to continue learning about themselves and their amazing bodies! When she is not at the studio or working, Michelle can be found having fun with her husband and three teenagers, spending time with a friend over a warm drink, or hiking in the mountains around Jasper. Michelle joined completed the JDance internship program this past year. She is excited to have joined the team at J’Adore Dance and looks forward to working with your dancer!
