Strength, Breath, Fluidity, and Release

Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid-twentieth century. Since that time, the contemporary dance style has grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, especially in North America and Europe. Contemporary dance is a style that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Combining the strength and grace of ballet with the floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation of modern dance, this style strives to connect the mind, body, and soul.

Our Contemporary Beg/Int program builds on foundational skills and knowledge and adds challenge to style, stamina, improvisation, and dance combinations. Limited experience is suitable for this class.
