Nurturing movement, development, and connection one dance step at a time!

The first 12 months of your baby’s life is a magical time of growth and development. Join us as we use dance, song and rhyme to nurture your baby’s neurological, social, emotional and physical development.

This class focuses on fun and appropriate movements for building baby’s body and brain. Meaningful social/emotional connections are made as you and baby dance together and with others. Explore dance concepts using multi-sensory props and instruments. Sing nursery rhymes and move to a wide variety of music. Learn how to support and encourage tummy and floor time so baby can move through early developmental movement patterns, building a strong foundation in the first year of life. Based off the research and teachings of Anne Green Gilbert,  we will explore new dance and movement concepts each week that support your baby’s growth and development.

Meet new moms, make new friends, build a community and help your baby blossom!

Prop bags will come in their own J’Adore branded cinch sac labelled with your name and will include the items listed below. Prop bags will be available for purchase at the time of registration and will be waiting for you on the first day of their class. Prop bags will be sold for $30+GST.

  • 2 jingle bells
  • 1 dancing scarf
  • 1 ribbon wand
  • 1 sensory ball
  • Rhythm sticks (2 sets)
  • Egg shakers
  • Hand sanitizer

Registrations can be completed online or in person at the studio or over the phone (provided you already have an account with J'Adore Dance). Payment must be received at the time of registration.

Liesa

Director of Parented Programming, Recital and Costume Coordinator

Liesa has always had a passion for dance. Her mom likes to say that Liesa danced before she could walk, which makes sense given that her mother owned a dance studio before Liesa was born and was her very first teacher. Over the years, Liesa has trained in jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, the Cecchetti Method, and even dabbling in tap and hip hop, but ballet has always been her first love. She’s had the opportunity to perform in many productions, including playing the role of Clara in Alberta Ballet's The Nutcracker.

Liesa holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has completed the Edmonton Junior Years syllabus teacher training, as well as the Elementary Level of the Cecchetti Method. With over 15  years of teaching experience, Liesa brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the studio.

After having her own little dancers, Liesa was eager to share her love of movement with them, and the welcoming atmosphere at J'Adore Dance became the perfect place for them to grow. As the Director of Parented Programming, Liesa has the joy of guiding preschoolers and toddlers with their caregivers through their first dance experiences, fostering an environment of fun, connection, and early learning. Additionally, Liesa is responsible for the Recital and Costume Coordination, ensuring each performance is a seamless and special experience for all involved.

Helping families discover the joy of dance and creating lasting memories together is one of the most rewarding aspects of Liesa’s career, and she is thrilled to continue sharing her love for movement and dance with her students.
