Lights, Camera, Action!

Has your child ever wanted to star in their own music video or wondered what goes on behind the scenes when filming one? Well this is their chance to be a part of the action. Join us for this 5-day camp where we will create our very own music video inspired by CATS! Participants will learn a piece of group choreography which will be practiced and reviewed over the five classes. They will also learn how to use professional face paints, make-up and hair techniques to create the perfect music video look.  Participants will also be responsible for their own costume design using recycled clothing. Finally, we will put it all together to create a music video!

All makeup and hair materials are supplied. Participants are responsible for collecting their own clothing pieces to make into their costume.

Jason

Instructor

Jason discovered his passion for dance while in university; but is no stranger to the teaching and performing worlds. You might have seen Jason on stage while working towards his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at Concordia and other performances around Edmonton. When it comes to teaching, he has years of experience from working at the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc, being a Fitness Kickboxing and Taekwondo instructor for almost 10 years where he designed an anti-abduction and safety program for children ages 3-6; all while working towards his third degree black belt in Taekwondo and first degree black belt in Pankration; and recently received a Bachelor of Elementary Education After-Degree. The love that Jason has for performing and teaching has both strengthened and developed his love for dance. Jason is a firm believer in different learning styles for students and dance is a fantastic way for so many students to express themselves, be active and healthy; all while having fun at the same time. Jason has been with J'Adore for a few years where he has been involved in many of the amazing programs they have to offer from Tap, Ballet, to Contemporary. You might have seen him on stage with J'Adore performances as a Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz, as King Louie and part of the river in the Jungle Book or the bearded lady in Cirque Du J'Adore.

Lisa

Instructor/Studio Manager

Lisa Malo-Smith discovered dance at the age of 3 when she began her first ballet class and has carried a love for performing ever since. She spent much of her childhood and teenage years experimenting with many instruments such as piano, guitar, drums and singing. She studied music with Le Centre de Développement Musicale where she had many opportunities for performing at events across Alberta as a French artist. With a strong sense of musicality and rhythm, she decided to pursue music and is now a professional performer currently studying vocal performance at MacEwan University. Additionally, Lisa has been Poi dancing since 2010 and performing at Festivals across Alberta with her Poi Dance Duo, Alien Freak Show. More recently she has further developed her passion for Hip-Hop through J’Adore Dance and has completed the Full-Year Internship Program in Spring 2019.
