Annie

Instructor

Annie has danced since she could walk and it has always been her true passion. Having had the privilege of training in many dance styles including finishing her Grade 6 RAD and Checchetti ballet, ISTD Jazz and Tap, she furthered her education, studied contemporary and obtained a Bachelor (HONS) Degree in Dance and Choreography at the University of Chichester in England. Finishing university Annie successfully obtained a position to dance in the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics 2012, "It was the biggest performance of my life!" The creative nature that dance can ignite has always interested her and as such choreography has become one of Annie's main focuses. Since joining J'Adore Dance she has had the pleasure of watching children delve into the creative processes of dance and explore choreography in a whole different light. She completed her Certification in Integrative Dance from Rhythm Works, Intellidance and maintains her First Aid and CPR. "The imagination and innate creativity of children never ceases to amaze me; I look forward to furthering my career and sharing my passion for dance with as many people as possible".

Rebecca

Instructor

Rebecca recently moved to Edmonton from the capital city of Alaska. She grew up learning classical ballet and started a teaching internship when she was 14. Over the years Rebecca has choreographed 4 full-length ballet productions, starred as the principal dancer in 3 ballets, and has served as an Assistant Artistic Director for youth programs for over 8 years. She has attended the Dance Teacher Summit in New York, been a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, taken YogaFit classes for teachers, and has coached dance teams. She has taught jazz, ballet, lyrical, acro, and creative movement. Rebecca has completed her Intellidance® Method Certification and loves to share all of the wonderful activities with her little boy. Rebecca has been working in the field of child education for over 9 years and is currently pursuing a Masters in English at the University of Alberta. She is passionate about dance because she found it empowering as a child to conquer new steps and make new friends with common interests. She hopes to help teach kids how to have fun, confidence, and good technique. She also wants to share her love of dance, even the goofy side, because to her, it’s about the joy dance brings.
