Katherine began her early dance training at the age of 5 at a local dance studio, training and performing in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. For High School, she enrolled at Victoria School of the Arts where she earned her International Baccalaureate certificate in Dance. During her time at Victoria School, Katherine was involved in many community performances, performed and choreographed for Nextfest’s Dancefest, and studied with master teachers such as Cornelius Carter, Crystal Pite, and Scott Putman. In July 2013, Katherine was accepted into The School of Toronto Dance Theatre’s Professional Training Program. Since beginning her training at the School, she has been studying with a highly regarded faculty and has recently performed works by Kate Alton and Robert Desrosiers. Upon entering the School, she received a grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. This past Fall, Katherine joined Nostos Collectives and The Chimera Project’s Company B in Toronto. Katherine has always been eager to share her love for dance with the communities around her. She is currently an assistant instructor for the School’s Young Dancers’ Program and has the opportunity to choreograph and teach at Victoria School of the Arts. Katherine looks forward to another summer spent with the vibrant young dancers at J’Adore Dance!
