Tap is style, rhythm, percussive and fun!
Fusing elements from Broadway and Rhythm tap, you will explore styles from traditional theatrical performance to rhythmic percussive. This is an excellent level for dancers that have taken at least 6-7 years of Tap. This class will be working at the equivalent level of grade 7 Al Gilbert syllabus.
Attire:
- Athletic wear, dance wear, or leggings & fitted top (no crop tops please)
- Tap Shoes required
This class will perform in this year's Senior Recital "Best of Broadway"
Location: Myer Horowitz Theatre
Tech Rehearsal: Friday, May 22nd Time TBD (usually around 7pm)
Show Day (Dress Rehearsal, Show 1 and Show 2): Saturday, May 23rd (usually a 9am-5pm day)

35 weeks of instruction + Recital Fee:
Recital fee ($250) includes: Costume, tech/stage rehearsal time, instructor's time at recital, group photo, individual photo, Recital Performance Video
35 weeks of instruction: September 11, 2025 - June 18, 2026
Registrations can be completed online or in person at the studio or over the phone (provided you already have an account with J'Adore Dance). Payment must be received at the time of registration.
Prorating: Prorating class registration fees will not begin until week 5 of the session. Registering for a class before week 5, you are eligible for 3 make-ups to be used in any of our sessional programming within the current session. Please note that prorated classes and make-up classes are subject to availability.
Registrations cancelled before the first class are subject to a $25+GST administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after the start date of the class, however, we will issue credit (minus the $25+GST administrative fee) valid for 12 months from the start date of the canceled program if the registration is canceled before the third class of the session. No refunds or credit will be granted after the start of the third class other than for serious illness or injury with medical documentation provided. Cancellation requests must be received in writing (info@jadoredance.com) and can only be processed by management. Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Katelyn
Instructor
Katelyn started dancing at the age of 3, training in a variety of styles including jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, and hip hop. She trained at Edmonton Dance Factory (EDF) where she competed in a variety of dance competitions and in later years student taught. Katelyn fell in love with tap at an early age and competed her Al Gilbert Tap Exams up to Grade 9. While in high school Katelyn participated in her schools Dance Intensive program which included performance opportunities and original choreography projects.
Throughout her time at EDF Katelyn had the opportunity to perform at the FIFA Opening Ceremonies, the Harlem Globetrotters halftime show, and Disneyland Parade.
In addition to her dance background, Katelyn taught barre for two years at Navina Yoga. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and is a full-time elementary school teacher. She has never stopped dancing and continues taking tap classes and competing with an advanced adult group each year. Katelyn is excited to join the J’Adore faculty this year and bring her passion for tap and teaching into the studio!
