Youth
Are you seeking a non-competitive studio where fun, fitness, and a love of dance are the top priority?
Our Youth Program is designed for youth age 13-17 who are seeking a dance program that balances a solid foundation in dance technique with the opportunity to express themselves creatively through movement and collaborative processes in a safe, welcoming environment. Students will work with the instructor to create choreography that will be performed at the J'Adore Dance Spring recital.
The Contemporary Program focuses on how ballet technique informs expression and increases facility in all genres of Dance. Dancers will explore a variety of dance genres including Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern and Jazz.
The Hip Hop Program works on multiple styles of urban dance through technical training, combos, and improvisation. Every class also includes strength and conditioning.
The Tap Program focuses on combining the Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus and Rhythm Tap. Youth tap dancers will gain coordination, rhythm, and balance in a fun and supportive environment.
The Pre-Pointe/Pointe Program is the next step in your child's ballet training. This class will focus on improving technique and coordination with attention to detail as well as developing artistry and expression in a safe and fun environment. There will be an emphasis on strengthening footwork. The class will include barre, centre work combinations and across the floor turn and jump progressions. The dancers will develop a strong base, proper alignment and clean technique. Admission to this class is by teacher recommendation or audition only.
Dance is more than a series of steps. Our program uses a holistic approach that provides our dancers with a brain compatible learning environment. Our conceptual approach to dance education ensures our students move with purpose on the dance floor and through life. Our goal is to shape each student into a Holistic Dancer who is a:
- Skilled Technician
- Critical Thinker
- Successful Collaborator
- Inventive Creator
New families joining our program will need to complete the Full-Year Placement Recommendation Form to receive a class placement prior to being able to register. You will be notified via email once your class placement has been added to your account.
